
Beed, April 4 A 40-year-old man died when a jeep crashed into his motorcycle after a tyre of his two-wheeler got stuck in a deep crack on a road in Beed district, Maharashtra, on Saturday, police said.
The incident occurred around 5 pm near the Abujwadi cross road in the Majalgaon tehsil, they said.
The victim, Ashok Jija Goje, was travelling towards Majalgaon when one of the tyres of his motorcycle got stuck in a large crack on a highway stretch between Khamgaon and Pandharpur, police said.
Just then, a jeep approaching from behind hit him and sped away. Goje was rushed to the Majalgaon Rural Hospital, where doctors declared him dead, the official said.
A case has not yet been registered, he said, adding that the victim is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
