
Ranchi, March 14 A man climbed onto the roof of a train at the Ranchi railway station and sustained serious burn injuries after coming into contact with a high-voltage overhead wire on Saturday, police said.
The man was admitted to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) with approximately 60 per cent burn injuries, they said.
The incident occurred on platform number 2.
"The man suddenly climbed onto the roof of the train and came into contact with a high-voltage overhead wire, carrying around 25,000 volts. He immediately fell onto the roof, and his clothes were burned," said Sohan Lal, a sub-inspector at the Ranchi railway police station.
He added that the man, identified as Masko Oraon (28), was immediately rushed to the hospital.
The reason for climbing onto the roof remains unclear, Lal added.
