
Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya reviewed India's preparations for the 2026 Asian Games today. This year's games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4. During a high-level meeting in New Delhi, Dr. Mandaviya stated that over 700 Indian athletes are expected to compete across more than forty sports disciplines at this year's games. The Minister reiterated the government's commitment to the welfare and performance of athletes. He said that all possible support, from training and sports science to logistics, equipment, food, and medical care, will be provided so that athletes can prepare without distractions and perform at their best. The Minister also emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders, stating that structured preparation, strong support systems, and timely planning will play a crucial role in helping the nation achieve new milestones at the games.
