The first nomination for the upcoming Assembly elections in the Barpeta district was filed today, among its four Assembly constituencies.
Independent candidate Faruk Khan submitted his nomination from the newly formed Mandia constituency at the District Commissioner’s office. He arrived alone to file his papers and has previously contested in several elections.
Khan assured that if elected, he would ensure proper utilization of MLA funds and work towards resolving public grievances.
