Imphal, March 23 The Manipur Police have arrested 14 members of a banned group from the Thoubal district and seized weapons and ammunition from their possession, according to an official statement released on Monday.
The militants, belonging to the United National Liberation Front (Koireng), were arrested in the Haokhong area, under the jurisdiction of the Nongpok Sekmai police station, on Sunday.
Two INSAS rifles, eight INSAS LMG magazines, five INSAS rifle magazines, 100 INSAS cartridges, and Rs 1 lakh in cash, along with five helmets, were seized from their possession. Further investigation is ongoing.
