Imphal, March 31 Security forces have arrested three militants belonging to two banned groups for alleged involvement in extortion activities in the Thoubal and Kakching districts of Manipur, a police statement said on Tuesday.
The arrests were made on Monday, according to police.
Two active members of the People's Liberation Army were arrested in the Yairipok Khoirom Mathak Leikai area under the Yairipok police station in the Thoubal district.
One self-proclaimed sergeant major of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People's War Group faction) was apprehended in the Wabagai Thingel area in the Kakching district.
