Thane, March 6 The highly decomposed body of a middle-aged man was found near a creek in the Thane district of Maharashtra, an official said on Friday.
Senior Inspector Ashok Ratnaparki said that the Bhiwandi police station was alerted on Thursday evening about a body found in the marshy area of the creek.
The body was retrieved with the help of local fishermen and taken to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination.
"The body was highly decomposed. We currently have no information about the man or how the body reached the marshy area. An investigation is underway," the official said.
