The Mechanical Department of the Anantnag Division launches snow clearance at Margantop after fresh snowfall, deploying men and machines to reopen a vital road link for remote villages near Kishtwar
February 24, Anantnag: Snow clearance operations have commenced at Margantop as the Mechanical Department of the Anantnag Division initiated efforts to restore road connectivity following fresh snowfall in the higher reaches. Men and machinery were immediately pressed into service to ensure that the vital road stretch is cleared without delay.
Margantop serves as an important link connecting nearly fourteen villages of the Kishtwar district, including the far-flung areas of Marwah and Warwan. The route is considered a lifeline for residents, especially during the winter months when heavy snowfall disrupts normal movement.
Speaking to DD News, Executive Engineer of the Mechanical Department, Javid Ahmad, said that snow clearance operations in the Anantnag division have officially begun and teams are working with full dedication to restore connectivity at the earliest.
He added that all necessary machinery has been deployed and the department is fully prepared to tackle further snowfall in order to minimize inconvenience to the public.
