Indian stock markets were closed today due to Holi. Trading was suspended at both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) across all segments, including equities, equity derivatives, currency derivatives, interest rate derivatives, and the securities lending and borrowing scheme.
The currency and commodity markets were also closed, with the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) closed during the morning session. Trading at MCX is scheduled to resume in the evening session, while other exchanges will reopen tomorrow.
On the previous trading day, domestic markets ended sharply lower as escalating tensions in the Middle East weighed heavily on investor sentiment. The Sensex plunged 1,48 points to close at 80,239, while the Nifty shed 313 points to settle at 24,866.
