Chennai, March 22 – Director Tamizh, who is directing the highly anticipated action entertainer 'Marshal', starring actor Karthi, has now revealed that the film is likely to be released for Diwali this year.
The director, who is also known as a writer, while participating in an event, was asked about his upcoming film 'Marshal'. Choosing to share an update, Tamizh said, "This will be a film set in 1965. I have completed two shooting schedules. We have already shot for 48 days. We will resume shooting from the 15th onwards. We should be ready for Diwali."
Sources close to the production unit say that the film is being made on a grand scale. There are also rumors that the film will be released in two parts. However, none of this has been officially confirmed.
For those who are unaware, the upcoming film starring actor Karthi and director Tamizh, best known for making the film 'Tanakaaran', has been titled 'Marshal'. The film, which will feature Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead, will also feature actors Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Lal, John Kokken, Easwari Rao, and Murali Sharma in significant roles.
On the technical front, 'Marshal' will have music by the young music sensation Sai Abhyankkar and cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan. Well-known editor Philomin Raj will be the editor of the film. The production design will be by Arun Venjaramoodu.
The film is being produced by S R Prakash Babu and S R Prabhu on behalf of Dream Warrior Pictures, with Ishan Saksena as a co-producer.
It may be recalled that the makers had released a poster of a ship along with the announcement of the film's production, last year.
Director Tamizh, who is best known as an actor for his role as the antagonist in director T J Gnanavel's courtroom drama 'Jai Bhim', featuring actor Suriya, made his directorial debut with the Vikram Prabhu-starrer 'Tanakaaran'.
