Shimla, March 21 Some unidentified individuals have been booked in connection with the suspected attempt to kidnap the son of the media advisor to the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, near Mashobra, about 11 kilometers from Shimla.

According to reports, the incident occurred late Friday evening when Aryan Chauhan, who is also the general secretary of Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress, was traveling from his hotel in Mashobra to Shimla.

While en route to Shimla, Chauhan attempted to overtake an Alto car.

In doing so, the occupants of the Alto asked him to stop. When Chauhan brought his car to a halt, two masked men got out of the Alto with a gun and a metal rod and started walking towards him.

Seeing them approaching, Chauhan exited his car and jumped onto the side of the mountainous road, and injured himself in the process.

After Chauhan managed to escape, the masked men fled the scene.

Chauhan then approached the police and filed a complaint, which was later converted into an FIR, police said.

However, the police have not revealed under which sections the unidentified individuals have been booked.
