
Mathura (UP), March 31 A speeding car crashed into a parked tractor-trailer on a national highway in Mathura on Tuesday, killing a 45-year-old woman and three of her family members, police said.
The incident occurred near Sanskrit University on Tuesday afternoon, they said.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Suresh Chandra Rawat said the car was moving at a high speed, and the impact of the crash was so severe that the vehicle's front portion was completely damaged.
The rear seat passengers were rescued by locals. The driver and front seat passenger were trapped inside the car, he added.
All passengers were rushed to a private medical college.
Anil Kumar (52), his son Vansh (25), and his daughter Pari (20), residents of Haryana's Jind, suffered injuries in the accident and are said to be stable, the SP said.
However, Anil's wife, Radha (45), succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment, he said.
The body will be sent for post-mortem examination, the police said.
