Mausam Benazir Noor Declares Rs 2.5 Cr Assets.webp

Malda (WB), April 7 Congress candidate from Malda's Malatipur assembly seat, Mausam Benazir Noor, has declared assets worth over Rs 2.5 crore in her nomination affidavit, stating that no criminal case is pending against her.

Noor's annual income increased from Rs 7.23 lakh in the 2020-21 fiscal to Rs 10.97 lakh in the financial year 2024-25. Her husband, Mirza Kayes Beg, also saw an increase in his income, from Rs 4.98 lakh to Rs 7.01 lakh during the same period.

While filing her nomination papers on April 6, Noor declared total movable assets worth Rs 1.46 crore, while her husband owns movable assets worth Rs 42.2 lakh. Noor also possesses land valued at Rs 1.1 crore.

In 2020, when she filed her nomination for Rajya Sabha elections from the Trinamool Congress, Noor had declared assets worth Rs 1.79 crore and liabilities of Rs 8.40 lakh.

Noor, who recently returned to the Congress from TMC, submitted her nomination for the assembly elections on Monday, the last day for filing papers for the first phase of polling.

Noor's 2026 affidavit further mentioned that she had taken a bank loan of Rs 42 lakh, while her husband had taken a bank loan of about Rs 12.49 lakh. She has cash of Rs 75,000, while her husband has an equal amount.

The affidavit stated that Noor has no criminal case registered against her, and no cases are pending before any court. In her affidavit, Noor stated that both she and her husband are practicing lawyers.

Her movable assets include 170 gm of gold jewelry valued at Rs 25.5 lakh, while her husband possesses 25 gm of jewelry worth Rs 3.3 lakh.

Noor also owns two vehicles valued at Rs 22 lakh in total, while her husband owns two vehicles worth Rs 21.79 lakh.
