MEA Announces Kumaran's Appointment as High Commissioner
New Delhi, March 26 Seasoned diplomat Periasamy Kumaran was appointed as India's new High Commissioner to the United Kingdom on Thursday.
Kumaran, a 1992-batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), is currently serving as Secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
The MEA said that he is expected to take up the assignment shortly.
Kumaran will succeed Vikram Doraiswami, who has been appointed as India's new envoy to Beijing.
