Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs, Sibi George, stated that terrorism is one of the most serious threats to human rights. Mr. George was delivering India's national statement at the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. The secretary emphasized that the world must remain united in its resolve to counter terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and must speak with one voice on this issue. Highlighting India's efforts to empower citizens with AI and digital tools, Mr. George said that India is using digital tools to expand access to rights for all. He added that the use of digital tools has facilitated access to justice, civil and political rights, democratic participation of 1.4 billion Indians, and the empowerment of women in the country.
