Meerut (UP), April 3 Police have registered a case in Meerut after a man allegedly made objectionable remarks against the late Chaudhary Charan Singh, a former prime minister, during a live broadcast on social media, officials said on Friday.

Daurala Circle Officer Prakash Chandra Agrawal said that police have formed three teams, including a cyber cell unit, to arrest the accused, Ramavatar Palsania, and take action based on digital evidence.

The complainant in the case, Gaurav Jitauli, the regional general secretary of the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), alleged that the remarks made during a Facebook Live offended the sentiments of the community.
