
New Delhi, March 16 Congress leader Rahul Gandhi met Ajay Malik, an assistant commandant of the CoBRA Battalion, who lost one of his legs after being critically injured in an IED blast during an anti-Naxal operation in Jharkhand, and praised his indomitable courage.
Gandhi met Malik at a guest house in R K Puram here.
"He (Malik) lost one of his legs after being critically injured in an IED blast during an anti-Naxal operation in Jharkhand. Speaking with him, I witnessed his indomitable courage, unwavering morale, and extraordinary spirit," Gandhi said in a Facebook post in Hindi.
"I salute his service and dedication to the nation. I hope for his speedy recovery," the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha said.
The Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) is an elite specialized unit of India's Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), established in 2008 to counter the Naxalite insurgency.
