New Delhi, February 27 A group of prominent Malayalam writers met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday and expressed their gratitude for the renaming of Kerala as Keralam.
The Union Cabinet approved a proposal by the Kerala government to change the state's name to Keralam on Tuesday. This decision comes ahead of the state assembly elections.
"I was very pleased to meet a group of prominent Malayalam writers who came to express their gratitude for renaming Kerala to Keralam. The interaction was extremely insightful and reflected their passionate commitment to Kerala and Malayalam," Modi wrote on 'X' in posts in both English and Malayalam.
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the president of the BJP's Kerala state unit, was also present at the meeting.
