Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has clarified that no permanent construction will be allowed on Lumpongdeng Island under the proposed resort project. Addressing environmental concerns, he stated that only temporary structures such as tents and stalls will be permitted for short durations and will be removed within days. He emphasized that strict safeguards are in place to protect the island's ecology and urged the public not to be misled by misinformation, reaffirming the government's commitment to sustainable tourism.
