Chief Minister, Shri Conrad K. Sangma, announced on Wednesday, March 11, that the state government has decided to postpone the elections for the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).

In a statement, he said, "My dear friends, given the current situation in Garo Hills and the difficulties faced by the people, the Meghalaya government has decided to postpone the GHADC elections."
