A review meeting on activities conducted under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) was held in Ampati, chaired by Raymond D. Shira, Project Director, DRDA, Government of Meghalaya. The meeting assessed ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse and reviewed various welfare schemes being implemented in the district.

The meeting discussed the Joint Action Plan (JAP) on drugs and substance abuse among children and illicit trafficking, as guided by NCPCR, and examined the report submitted by the district. Officials also reviewed the functioning of the District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Committee (DLNMBAC), including activities carried out during 2025–26 and proposed initiatives by various line departments for 2025–2026.

It was informed that the District Level Coordination Committee on Prohibition of Drug Abuse had been strengthened, while steps were underway to notify Block Level Coordination Committees. The District Mission Steering Group (DMSG) under the DREAM initiative was also discussed, with officials stating that a formal notification would be issued soon. The committee outlined its functions and emphasized plans to establish at least one rehabilitation center in every district, along with activity proposals from concerned departments.

The meeting further reviewed the status of the District Level Task Force Committee for the One Stop Centre (OSC) Scheme, including the physical and financial progress of the OSC building under construction. Updates were also presented on the District Level Committee Hub for Empowerment of Women (DLCHEW), highlighting ongoing schemes under the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) in Ampati.
