Mau (UP), April 2 A man allegedly killed his sleeping father with a stick in their home in Inderpur village, near Ghosi, on Thursday, police said.
The accused, identified as Harikesh, allegedly attacked his father, Basau (50), at 4 am.
After receiving information, police reached the scene and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Police said the accused is believed to be mentally unstable and has been arrested.
A forensic team also visited the scene and collected evidence, officials said.
Circle Officer Jitendra Singh said an investigation is underway.
