Mumbai, April 9 The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has introduced discounted travel passes for students up to Class 12 on its Line-3 (Aqua Line), a fully underground corridor, officials said on Thursday.
In a press release, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) said that the concessional passes are available exclusively on the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC).
Under this initiative, which came into effect on April 8, students up to Class 12 can avail a 25 per cent discount on 45-trip and 60-trip passes, both valid for 30 days, it said.
"The initiative aims to make travel more affordable, while encouraging the adoption of contactless and digital solutions," the release said.
The Aqua Line (Metro Line-3), with 27 stations, connects Cuffe Parade in south Mumbai to Aarey JVLR in the suburban Goregaon. It serves key hubs like BKC, a business district, and the city airport.
According to MMRC, the 33.5-km-long metro corridor has crossed a milestone of ferrying four crore passengers since becoming fully operational. The first phase of the corridor was inaugurated in October 2024, and the final section a year later.
