
Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated today that Qatar has reaffirmed its commitment to remain a reliable energy supplier to India. Mr. Puri made this statement after holding discussions with the Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs and the President and CEO of Qatar Energy, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, in Doha. In a social media post, Mr. Puri said that during the meeting, both sides discussed all aspects of the strategic relationship between the two countries, including high-level engagements, trade, investment, energy, culture, and people-to-people relations. He also noted that both sides expressed hope for an early return of peace and stability in the West Asia region. He further stated that both India and Qatar welcomed the two-week ceasefire agreed between the US and Iran. India and Qatar highlighted the importance of an early end to disruptions in global energy supplies and the restoration of normalcy. Mr. Puri emphasized that both sides further underscored the need for unimpeded freedom of navigation and the global flow of commerce to maintain global supply chains.
