Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu stated that there would be no compromise when it comes to the safety and security of civil aviation operations. Responding to supplementary questions during Question Hour in the Lok Sabha today, Mr. Naidu said that with regard to the safety of flight operations, every country continuously strives to maintain the highest standards. He said that the guidelines and protocols related to safety are primarily established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), where multiple countries come together to frame global standards.

The Minister said that since aviation is an international subject, it is essential for all nations to follow these norms uniformly. He said that as a responsible country, India is committed to fully adhering to these policies, guidelines, and rules. Regarding weather forecasting, Mr. Naidu said that the Ministry of Civil Aviation is working closely with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to improve accuracy. He said that advanced instruments have been installed at the airports to provide real-time data on fog, cloud cover, coastal weather, and other atmospheric conditions. He added that whenever new technologies emerge, the Ministry actively welcomes and adopts them at the airports to enhance the ability to predict the weather more accurately. The Minister said that any operational challenges or disturbances are promptly addressed with full effort and coordination.
