
The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, expressed satisfaction with the progress of Rabi sowing. During a high-level meeting held in New Delhi, he reviewed the status of Rabi crop sowing and the price situation of key agricultural commodities.
He stated that the prices of vegetables, pulses, oilseeds, and other food grain items are being closely monitored. Mr. Chouhan also reviewed the release and utilization of funds by states under the Krishonnati Yojana and the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana. He directed officials to hold review meetings with states where fund utilization is below expectations to ensure effective implementation.
Emphasizing outcome-based governance, the minister asked officials to obtain direct feedback from farmers to assess the impact of various schemes. He also directed the ministry to expedite the implementation of agriculture-related announcements made in the Union Budget 2026-27 in coordination with the states.
