
The 47th meeting of the National Skills Qualifications Committee (NSQC) was held in New Delhi today. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship announced that the meeting reviewed the qualifications submitted by various National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET)-recognized Awarding Bodies. The committee also discussed various agenda items related to revising, extending, and updating existing qualifications, as well as National Occupational Standards and Micro-credentials. Addressing the meeting, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Debashree Mukherjee, emphasized the crucial role of the NSQC in maintaining the integrity, relevance, and future-oriented nature of India's skills qualification framework. She also stated that the comprehensive discussions and decisions made during the session demonstrate the Government's strong commitment to promoting skilling programs. She added that it also fosters a workforce that is aligned with global standards and closely reflects industry requirements. The National Skills Qualifications Committee (NSQC) focused on enhancing learning and training within the skilling ecosystem by introducing concepts related to Artificial Intelligence, multi-skilling, and sustainability.
