The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, in collaboration with the India Tourism Development Corporation, organized a Capacity Building Workshop for Tribal Homestay Owners in New Delhi yesterday. The Ministry stated that the workshop brought together tribal homestay owners and their teams from Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. It added that the workshop highlighted the Government's commitment to promoting community-led sustainable tourism as a key driver of tribal livelihood enhancement.
These initiatives include the PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan, the Development Action Plan for Scheduled Tribes and Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan. These schemes aim to transform tribal livelihoods through community tourism; tribal homestays are emerging as growth engines for inclusive development and cultural preservation. The workshop reflects a broader national vision to promote inclusive tourism growth, strengthen local livelihoods in tribal regions, encourage cultural preservation through economic empowerment, and enhance the delivery of welfare schemes.
