Banda (UP), March 20 A 16-year-old girl has been found to be seven months pregnant after she was allegedly raped in the Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Friday.
According to the Kul Pahad Kotwali police, a case was registered on Friday based on a complaint from the minor. The victim alleged that she was raped seven months ago by a man called Pappu, who had threatened her not to tell anyone about the incident. The incident allegedly took place in the town of Belatal in Mahoba.
Station House Officer (SHO) Vinod Kumar Singh said an unidentified man has also been named as an accused in the FIR.
"The matter is being investigated. The victim will undergo a medical examination on Saturday, and further action will be taken based on the findings," the SHO said.
No arrests have been made in the case so far, police added.
