
Aizawl, April 6 The Mizoram government stated on Monday that it is maintaining a steady supply of LPG and will make every effort to ensure there is no shortage of cooking gas.
In a statement, the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that the administration is proactively monitoring and managing the supply chain to prevent any disruptions, amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
It also urged the public to remain calm, stating that there was currently no reason for panic or "panic buying".
According to data provided by the department, the state's cooking gas supply chain remained "secure with nearly 40,000 cylinders currently accounted for".
It said that 13,801 domestic cylinders are with distributors, while another 26,187 are in transit, bringing the total to 39,988 cylinders.
Regarding commercial cylinders, distributors hold 512 cylinders with an additional 312 in transit, taking the total to 824 cylinders, the statement said.
The department said that filling stations across the state are also well-stocked to meet daily demands.
