Home Minister K. Sapdanga stated that a total of 38,059 refugees from Manipur, Myanmar, and Bangladesh are currently residing in Mizoram.
Addressing a question during a session of the Assembly on Monday, the Home Minister informed the House that the most recent registration of refugees was conducted on 5 February. He noted that 93.04 per cent of the registration process has been completed so far.
The Minister further explained that the registration drive is being carried out by Deputy Commissioners in various districts and is progressing at full pace. He added that the registration of refugees from Bangladesh is currently underway and is expected to be completed shortly.
