Aizawl, March 27 Mizoram Governor VK Singh said on Friday that the state was emerging as a key player in the country's "Act East" policy due to its strategic location.
He emphasized the significant strategic importance of Mizoram despite its relatively small population and compact geographical area.
"The state is uniquely positioned at the tri-junction of India, Myanmar, and Bangladesh, making it a key player in India's Act East policy," he said during an interaction with a delegation of journalists from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
He said the cordial relations Mizoram maintains with its neighboring countries have contributed to a largely peaceful border.
He also said that the state has recently achieved another milestone by becoming the "ginger capital of India".
Singh also spoke about the development initiatives undertaken across multiple sectors in the state.
