Jammu, February 23: The Commissioner of the Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr. Devansh Yadav, conducted an inspection of Wards 63 and 65 to review civic amenities, focusing on drainage and sanitation concerns raised by residents.

In Ward 63 (Chinor), he examined a major stormwater drain that was reported to overflow during rains, causing waterlogging and property damage. He directed the engineering wing to conduct a technical assessment and prepare an estimate for strengthening and remodeling the drainage system. He also emphasized the need for regular desilting of drains before the monsoon.

In Ward 65 (Bantalab, Barnai, and Ganganagar), residents highlighted inadequate drainage and persistent water stagnation. The Commissioner instructed officials to prepare a detailed project report for new drains and street improvements, prioritizing the most affected areas.

He further directed the Health Officer to intensify sanitation drives and ensure strict monitoring of staff attendance to improve service delivery.

Senior officials accompanied the Commissioner during the inspection and interacted with local residents, assuring them of timely action.
