March 18th, Aizawl: According to the official schedule, voting will take place between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM on election day. Candidates who intend to contest the election have until March 25 to file their nominations. The vote counting will begin at 8:00 AM on April 26. The Aizawl Municipal Corporation consists of a total of 19 wards, of which 6 seats are reserved for female candidates.

With the announcement of the election dates, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into immediate effect within the AMC jurisdiction.

Dr. Lalthlangliana clarified that the MCC is not intended to stall or disrupt ongoing government projects or developmental works. Instead, it is strictly implemented to ensure a "level playing field" for all political parties, including both the ruling and opposition fronts. He emphasized that the code is in place to prevent the ruling party from utilizing government machinery and resources to gain an unfair electoral advantage, thereby ensuring a fair election.
