
New Delhi, February 20 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on their statehood day, and wished that the states continue to achieve new heights of development in the years to come.
In a message, the prime minister said that Arunachal Pradesh, blessed with majestic landscapes and extraordinary cultural diversity, stands as a shining example of harmony between tradition and nature.
He said that its spirited and industrious citizens play a vital role in strengthening the nation's progress, while the state's diverse tribal ethos adds immense richness to the nation.
"Warm wishes to the people of Arunachal Pradesh on the occasion of their Statehood Day... May the state continue to achieve new heights of development in the years to come," he wrote on 'X'.
In another message, the prime minister extended greetings to the people of Mizoram on their statehood day.
He said that Mizoram is widely known for its striking natural beauty and enduring cultural traditions, and its strong community spirit and gracious people embody values of kindness and compassion.
Modi said that the rich Mizo heritage, expressed through tradition, music and other aspects of everyday life, is very inspiring.
"May Mizoram continue to progress on the path of growth and achieve new milestones in the years ahead," he wrote on 'X'.
Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram were granted statehood on this day in 1987.
