March 26, New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Uttar Pradesh on March 28, 2026. He will visit the Terminal Building of the Noida International Airport at Jewar in Gautam Buddha Nagar. He will inaugurate Phase I of the airport and address a public gathering.

The inauguration of the Noida International Airport marks a major milestone in India's journey to becoming a global aviation hub. Designed as a key international gateway for the National Capital Region (NCR), the airport will strengthen India's airport infrastructure and improve regional and international connectivity. It is the second international airport for the Delhi NCR, complementing Indira Gandhi International Airport. Together, both airports will form an integrated aviation system, easing congestion, expanding passenger capacity, and positioning Delhi NCR among the world's leading aviation hubs.

The Noida International Airport is one of the largest greenfield airport projects in India. Phase I has been developed with an investment of approximately ₹11,200 crore under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. It will initially handle 12 million passengers per year, with plans to expand to up to 70 million passengers upon full development. The airport features a 3,900-meter runway for wide-body aircraft, modern navigation systems including an Instrument Landing System (ILS), and advanced airfield lighting for 24-hour, all-weather operations.

The airport also has a strong cargo ecosystem with a Multi-Modal Cargo Hub, an Integrated Cargo Terminal, logistics zones, and a 40-acre Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility. The cargo facility can handle over 2.5 lakh metric tonnes annually, expandable to 18 lakh metric tonnes.

Designed to be sustainable and future-ready, the Noida International Airport aims to operate as a net-zero emissions facility with energy-efficient systems and environmentally responsible practices. Its architecture draws inspiration from Indian heritage, incorporating elements of traditional ghats and havelis.

Strategically located along the Yamuna Expressway, the airport is planned as a multi-modal transport hub, integrating road, rail, metro, and regional transit systems for seamless connectivity for passengers and cargo.
