
Madurai, March 1 Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated infrastructure projects worth over ₹4,400 crore and laid the foundation stone for the four-laning of the Marakkanam–Puducherry and Paramakudi–Ramanathapuram sections of key national highways.
He also inaugurated eight redeveloped railway stations in Tamil Nadu and dedicated the Chennai Beach–Chennai Egmore 4th Line to the nation.
Earlier, he arrived here from neighboring Puducherry and was given a warm welcome.
He is scheduled to visit the Arulmigu Subramanyaswamy temple in Tirupparankundram around 4 pm and offer his prayers.
Later, he will address a rally of the NDA at Mandela Nagar, where leaders of the alliance party will share the stage with him.
