Hathras (UP), April 7 A young woman died after falling from the roof of her house while trying to escape a group of monkeys in the Hathras district, police said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Akrur Colony in the city, where the victim, Shivani (18), had gone to the terrace of her rented house for some work.
According to police, a group of monkeys suddenly appeared on the terrace. She panicked and attempted to flee when she lost her balance and fell from the terrace.
Family members rushed her to the district hospital in a critical condition, where doctors declared her dead on arrival, police added. Dr. Vaibhav said the girl showed no signs of life when she was brought to the hospital.
Residents of the area said the problem of monkeys has persisted for a long time.
Despite repeated assurances by authorities to address the issue, no concrete action has been taken so far, they claimed.
