
Morena (Madhya Pradesh), March 25 Two people were killed and their friend was injured when a speeding truck collided with a motorcycle in the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, a police official said.
The accident occurred near a culvert on the Chhonda river on National Highway 44, according to Udaybhan Yadav, the in-charge of the Civil Lines police station.
Five friends, who lived in Gwalior and worked as laborers, were travelling to the Karauli Mata temple in Rajasthan on two motorcycles, he said.
A truck hit one of the two motorcycles, carrying three people, from behind and sped away, the official said.
While Arun Prajapati (22) and Shivam Verma (17) died on the spot, the third rider suffered serious injuries, he said.
The critically injured rider was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors referred him to Gwalior for advanced care, the official said.
Based on the information provided by the victims' friends on the other motorcycle, a case has been registered, and efforts are being made to trace the truck and its driver, he added.
