Gayaji (Bihar), March 23 Two young men were killed in a head-on collision between their motorcycles in the Gayaji district of Bihar on Monday, police said.
The accident occurred around 7:30 am at the Kewali village, which falls within the Chandauti police station area of the district.
The deceased have been identified as Akshay Kumar alias Karu (22) and Subhash Kumar (25), residents of Dharampur and Belma villages, respectively.
SSP Sushil Kumar said that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
Shortly after the accident, angry locals blocked the road, raised slogans against the administration, and demanded compensation for the families of the deceased, officials said.
Police reached the scene and brought the situation under control.
According to locals, both vehicles were speeding, and the riders failed to control their motorcycles after they came face-to-face, resulting in the collision in which both died instantly.
