Beed (Maharashtra), February 24 A 36-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he was run over by a sugarcane-laden tractor in Beed district, Maharashtra, police said on Tuesday.
The accident occurred on Sunday evening at the Dhondrai cross road in the Georai tehsil.
The man was returning to his village on his motorcycle after visiting his relatives when the speeding tractor collided with his two-wheeler. He then fell off the motorcycle and was run over by the tractor's wheels, according to an official from the Georai police station.
The man sustained critical injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, the police said.
The tractor driver fled the scene after the accident.
