MP CM Inspects Ujjain Ghats for 2028 Simhasth.webp

Ujjain, March 26 Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inspected the construction of ghats along the Kshipra river in Ujjain on Thursday and directed that all necessary facilities for devotees must be developed in preparation for the 2028 Simhasth (Kumbh) Mela.

The inspection was conducted between Shri Angareshwar and Shri Siddhavat. Ghats are being prepared for bathing and other facilities for devotees.

The CM directed that changing facilities be provided for devotees within approximately 200 metres of the newly constructed ghats, and restrooms be built at convenient locations, an official said.

He also directed that convenience facilities, or "suvidha ghar," be developed every 200 metres on major ghats, while stairs and other approach roads are built every 500 metres.

"Yadav inspected the under-construction bridge between Shri Siddhavat and Shri Angareshwar Temple. The construction of the bridge will facilitate travel between the two major religious sites and will also provide an alternative route for devotees," the official said.

A five-metre wide ghat is being prepared for bathing at the ghats, which will provide adequate seating facilities as well as easy movement of devotees, he added.
