March 1, Kohima: Member of Parliament from Nagaland, S. Supongmeren Jamir, has raised serious concerns with the Central government regarding digital connectivity, telecom infrastructure, and postal services.

Addressing the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Mr. Jamir highlighted significant gaps in Optical Fibre Connectivity across District Headquarters and Block Headquarters in Nagaland, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh.

The MP stated that improved connectivity is essential for governance, education, telemedicine, and economic development in remote areas.

Regarding postal infrastructure, Mr. Jamir urged the construction of a new Head Post Office building in Kohima, the approval of a Sub-Division Post Office in Tuensang, and new post office buildings in Mangkolomba and Pungro.

He also requested the establishment of a Passport Seva Kendra in the state capital.

Furthermore, the MP proposed upgrading the State Data Centre into an AI-powered facility and introducing blockchain-based service delivery systems to improve transparency and efficiency.
