New Delhi, April 2 Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was absent from the Lok Sabha during Question Hour when an MP raised a query related to his ministry, prompting Speaker Om Birla to direct the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs to take note and ensure it does not happen again.
The question was related to the number of beneficiaries trained under the 'A Scheme for Promoting Innovation, Rural Industry and Entrepreneurship (ASPIRE)'.
Birla noticed the minister's absence and asked, "Who is the MoS (Minister of State) for MSME? He then asked the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs to record the matter.
"Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, please take note of this. Ensure it does not happen again," Birla said.
Manjhi assumed the charge of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in June 2024. He was the chief minister of Bihar between 2014 and 2015.
