The Meghalaya State Skills Development Society (MSSDS), Ri Bhoi District, organized a recruitment drive today at the District Library, Nongpoh, for the youth of the Ri Bhoi district. The initiative aimed to create employment opportunities and prepare young people for jobs both within and outside the state.
Speaking to the media, Bah Saibok Khriam, Skills Development Officer of MSSDS Ri Bhoi, stated that the objective of organizing such programs is to provide job-seeking youth with opportunities, enabling them to access better employment prospects and receive the necessary support in securing jobs.
He informed that the candidates who attended the recruitment drive were first required to register their names. This was followed by counseling sessions, where they interacted with counselors to gain a clearer understanding of their interests, aspirations, and career goals.
Subsequently, interviews were conducted during which panel members posed questions to assess the candidates' suitability and compatibility with the jobs they were seeking. The applicants also had to undergo an additional round of interviews before being shortlisted for skill training in their chosen fields.
Bah Saibok further announced that the office will not limit the program to Nongpoh alone. Similar recruitment drives will also be held at the Umsning Block on February 21 and at Bhoirymbong on February 24.
The MSSDS has invited all interested youth aspiring to work in various sectors to participate in the upcoming recruitment drives on the specified dates, so as to avail themselves of employment support and move towards a brighter future.
