Mumbai, February 28 The Mumbai airport issued a "NOTAM" on Saturday, stating that it would not accept any diverted flights until 8 am on Sunday, amid the US and Israeli strikes on Iran.
The decision was made due to the lack of parking space at the airport, with several flights returning to their origin or diverting to nearby airports, a source said.
Mumbai International Airport Ltd, the private airport operator, issued a NOTAM ("Notice to Airmen") at 9 pm, stating that it would "not accept any further diversions," the source added.
At least 54 flights had been cancelled at the Mumbai airport by 5:45 pm on Saturday.
