Mumbai, April 2 Some parts of Mumbai, particularly the suburbs, experienced light rain on Thursday, which an official said may have been caused by a western disturbance.
None of the observatories in the city recorded any rainfall activity, according to Sushma Nair, a scientist at the India Meteorological Department.
"The light rain could be due to a western disturbance," she said.
The sky was partly cloudy in the evening.
The IMD had issued a weather alert to all districts in the state except Mumbai, Palghar, Sindhudurg, and Kolhapur, on Thursday. It had also issued a yellow alert with a forecast of thunderstorms for neighboring Thane and Raigad districts.
