
Mumbai, March 5 The Solanki family in north Mumbai is coming to terms with the loss of two family members within a few months, following the death of their youngest member when a drone-operated boat carrying a bomb struck an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman.
Amritlal Solanki, a 33-year-old seafarer from Kandivali, died after the oil tanker was hit by an unmanned boat 52 nautical miles off the coast of the Muscat Governorate on Monday.
According to Suresh Solanki of the National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI), Amritlal Solanki had come to Mumbai a month ago to oversee the funeral arrangements for his mother.
"His father, Amritlal, a former seafarer, is unable to speak after this tragic event," Solanki told
