Mumbai, March 31 A 76-year-old British broadcast engineer, working with the BCCI for the 2026 IPL matches, died after being found unconscious in his hotel room in south Mumbai, police said on Tuesday.

Jan William Langford was found unconscious in his room on Monday morning, and the hotel management subsequently took him to Bombay Hospital. He was pronounced dead upon arrival, an official said.

Langford was on a work assignment as a broadcast engineer for BCCI/IPL matches, he added.

No suspicious findings were found during the post-mortem examination, said a Marine Drive police station official.

A case of unnatural death has been registered, and further investigations are ongoing, the official added.
