Mumbai, April 3 The Central Railway announced a special traffic and power 'block' (disruption in regular train services) during the night of April 4 and 5 for platform extension works at Thane and Dombivli stations and the dismantling of the Prabhadevi Road Over Bridge between Parel and Currey Road stations.
A block for platform extension will be carried out from midnight to 10 am on April 5 on the slow lines between Mulund and Thane, and between Diva and Dombivli.
Simultaneously, a separate block for dismantling of the British-era Prabhadevi RoB will be operated from 11.15 pm on April 4 to 5.45 am on April 5 on all lines between Dadar and Byculla, the release said.
The bridge is being dismantled to make way for a double-decker bridge, which is part of the Worli to Sewree connector project.
Suburban train services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Dadar will remain suspended from 10.30 pm on April 4 to 6 am on April 5.
Services between Thane and Dombivli will be intermittently cancelled, while some trains will be short-terminated or originate at Dadar or Kurla stations, the release said.
Several slow line services will be diverted to fast lines between Mulund and Kalyan during the block period and will skip halts at Kopar and Thakurli stations. Fast trains will additionally halt at Kalva, Mumbra and Diva stations.
All suburban services are expected to run about 15 minutes behind schedule, the release said.
Several mail and express trains will also be affected, with several services being diverted via additional lines between Kalyan, Thane and Vidyavihar.
Some long-distance trains, including those from Gorakhpur, Bhubaneswar, Howrah and Amritsar, will be short-terminated at Thane, while a few originating services will commence from Panvel or Dadar instead of CSMT, the release said.
The release said that some trains from Madgaon will be short-terminated at Panvel, and corresponding originating services will also operate from there. Several trains, including Vande Bharat, Mahanagri, Tapovan and Indrayani Express, have been rescheduled on April 5.
Additionally, a few trains on April 4 will be regulated by 20 to 40 minutes due to the block.
